Isha Home School Theater performs at Oxford Book Store, Coimbatore
21 August 09    E-mail

20090822_NEE_0053_tn_1Oodles of energy and a whole lot of 'monkeying' around were the essential ingredients for a fun-filled evening at the Oxford Bookstore. The Isha Home School Theater Group presented Karadi Tales' new release, 'Monkeys on a Fast' at Cha Bar in Coimbatore on 22nd August. This story is among the first five titles released as part of Karadi Tales' new audio book series, 'Will You Read Me'. Isha's talented young pool of actors - Abhinand, Rajendran, Hari, Siddarth and Anahita - got the evening going with a whacky dramatization of a story about fat monkeys who went on a fast to lose weight. 20090822_NEE_0061_tn_2They tickled everyone's funny bone by animatedly explaining how the clever monkeys tricked their weight-conscious chief 'Chakku' to break the fast that he had announced on the occasion of 'ekaadhashi'. At the end of the story when Chakku grabbed the bananas off his fellow monkeys, the audience roared with laughter. The fun did not stop here as the young group then engaged the audience in a sing-along of the rhyme from the story, 'Chips and Chocolate we Like to Eat....' This rhyme echoed throughout the little bookstore and the audience were left in hysterics20090822_NEE_0064_tn_320090822_NEE_0068_tn_420090822_NEE_0112_tn_520090822_NEE_0187_tn_6
