Drama workshop by Dr. Velu Saravanan

Dr. Velu Saravanan conducted a 5-day Tamil theater workshop for the junior school, which concluded with three very lively performances entitled 'The Golden Touch', 'Alli Malli' and ‘Karna’. Dr. Velu Saravanan is the founder of the Aazhi Children's Theatre Group, which has been performing throughout Tamil Nadu for the past 19 years. Dr Saravanan has a doctorate in 'theatricality in primary education' and has a passion to reflect children's dreams in the form of art.

Assembly with Shekhar Kapur

Critically acclaimed Indian film director and producer, Shekhar Kapur, known for his movies 'Bandit Queen', 'Masoom', and 'Elizabeth' visited the school and gave an assembly on how to build a simple storyline in a movie. As an example, he began with the simple fairytale, the 'Frog and the Princess.’ Through an interactive session with the children, he developed it into a tale complete with romance, comedy and tragedy. He had a smaller session with a select group of older children, during which time he further elaborated on the highs and lows of film making and explored various improvisation techniques.
 
Assembly with Ravi Venkatesan

The Chairman of Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Ravi Venkatesan, addressed students on New Year’s Day in a special assembly. The theme of his address was on setting personal resolutions and building dreams. Mr. Venkatesan, who joined Microsoft with absolutely no IT background, gave the school an insight into his personal journey and the possible results that one can achieve when one does not give up on one’s own dreams and ambitions. He used the example of his colleague, Mr. Bill Gates, who was once ridiculed for having dreamt of having a computer in every home in the US. Mr. Venkatesan also spoke about the importance of education and the difference a teacher can make in one’s life. He spoke about his teacher in VII Standard , who said that he was strong in science and commented that he should become a scientist; a suggestion that he took up in his life. He ended by saying that the students of Home Isha School were very fortunate to have such inspiring teachers who would be able to support them in fulfilling their dreams.
 
Dance Performance by Sutra Dance Theatre

Artistic director of Sutra Dance Theatre, Rimli Ibrahim, along with his dance troupe, gave a lecture-cum-demonstration on Indian classical dance, particularly focusing on Odissi and Bharatnatyam. Mr. Ibrahim, a recipient of the Fulbright Distinguished Artist Award 1999, the coveted BOH Cameronian Lifetime Achievement Award 2003 and the J.S.M. (Johan Setia Mahkota) 2004 is Malaysia's most prominent dancer and choreographer. Later that evening, the students and staff had the opportunity to see the dance troupe perform in the Odissi style in their full-fledged dance masterpiece entitled ‘Vision of Forever'.
