Holi Hai! IHS enthusiastically celebrated the festival of colours. Our resident epic storyteller Geetuma began the festivities by relaying the legend of how Holi came to be celebrated and the significance of the Holika bonfire, the symbolic victory of good over evil, of Prahlada over Hiranyakashipu, and of the fire that burned Holika. She spoke about how she used to celebrate Holi in her childhood and how others across the country observe this occasion. In keeping with the festive spirit, the Juniors performed a dance to the immortal ‘Are Ja Re Natkhat’ from the movie Navrang. Immediately after assembly, all gathered near the school entrance to partake in a frenzied color play using safe natural colours.
