IHS celebrates Independence day

As usual, Independence Day was celebrated joyously and with a sense of gratitude to all the people who made this possible. This year IHS hoisted a 12-foot-long flag which fluttered majestically through the day in the backdrop of the Velliangiri Mountains. Dr. Chitra our resident medical department leader hoisted the flag while Shivangi – a class XI student – shared her thoughts on what she felt about Independence Day and on how the current water crisis must be dealt with the same zeal as the freedom movement. Students of the junior school presented a few patriotic songs too. The math department designed a special sudoku incorporating dates and events from the freedom struggle. The day saw a large number of parents who visited to be with their children on this wonderful day.
