The middle school students enjoyed an excursion in God’s Own Country! They watched a colourful sunrise and sunset in Kanyakumari and spent time writing at the Swami Vivekananda memorial.

On their way to Trivandrum, they stopped to admire the beautiful and well-maintained wooden Padmanabhapuram palace. In Trivandrum, the students visited the zoo, played in the waves at Kovalam Beach, dressed up in pavadais and vestis to see the Padmanabha Swamy Temple and shopped every chance they got! They also visited a Kalari school, where they were inspired by the student’s skills.

In Cochin, the students toured Mattancherry Palace, rode a ferry to Jew town, saw Chinese fishing nets and navy ships. Some even watched the fishermen pull out fish, crabs and shells from their nets! They visited the St. Francis Church and Jewish synagogue, seeing some of the different cultures and religions that exist in Kerala. They caught a Kathakali performance and even watched the artists put on their makeup before the show! The trip ended with an adventure in Wonder-la where they cooled down on the water rides.
